Accommodation Description:
The finca is a very special place, whose charm is largely tied to the house's history. We therefore tried to preserve as much of the ideas of our previous owners as possible, and even today, no two rooms are the same.
The heart of the finca is the open-plan living and dining area with a long kitchen counter, where even larger groups can cook together. It features underfloor heating and several open fireplaces. Directly in front of the living room is the so-called "porche," a huge covered terrace that serves as a dining room and lounge throughout the summer.The main house has seven double bedrooms with four bathrooms. The "Don Julio" annex houses another double bedroom with a bathroom and another spacious living room (library). There is also an additional cottage, the "Casita," with a double bedroom and bathroom, a large living room with a small kitchenette, and a sofa bed for two people. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, and the entire finca has central heating. Wi-Fi is available practically throughout the entire property.The almost 11,000 square meter property is beautifully landscaped, with some very old trees. Lemons, oranges, and even avocados ripen here. The 12 x 5 meter pool invites you to swim, and the adjacent pool house has a sauna. There's also an outdoor shower and a barbecue area.
The heart of the building complex is the tower, the Torre. It has stood here since 1489, more than 500 years ago, and once served as a defense against pirates. It was not until the 1960s that Doña Maria-Marta Sánchez Elia de Santamaria and Don Julio Emilio Núñez built the finca from the remains of a ruin around the tower, gradually expanding it to its present size. The couple resided here for well over 50 years, until they were well into their 90s. And you can still feel that today: "Torre de Son Sard" is not a vacation home, but a true home. -
